Cornell University supports technology in the classroom through a variety of services.
- Videoconference Systems – About once a year, Classroom Technologies updates a survey on fixed and portable room based video conference systems on the Ithaca campus and some remote locations. The identified system administrator should be contacted to book the system/facility for distance learning, research collaboration, remote meetings, etc.
- Schedule 25 A/V Resources Database - CIT maintains a database that identifies audio/visual systems and technical support personnel for Resource 25 classrooms administered by the Office of the Registrar. The database lets you search by room or building and by seating capacity.
- One on One Service with a Student Technology Assistant: Student technology assistants, working under the guidance of Cornell IT staff, support all the technologies offered to faculty. They can work one-on-one with you in the Academic Technology Center or in your own office or lab with your own computer. To request an appointment with a Student Technology Assistant, please email stap@cornell.edu
- Visit the Academic Technology Center. The new media center facility provides state-of-the-art computers, software, and other multi-media equipment for faculty and instructors to prepare course materials or to develop technology-based resources for courses.
- Personal Response Systems (clickers)
CIT supports the i-Clicker polling system, which allows you to survey an audience and view tabulated responses in class.
- Computer Labs for Instruction. CIT provides computer labs for the Cornell community. These tools and locations allow users to access academic and research-related resources, including: computer software installed on the lab computers, network resources such as file servers and web sites, and specific hardware in selected labs.
- Share Your Ideas: Have you heard about new technologies you want to try and don’t see them here? Please come share your ideas with us at Academic Technology Center or email atc_support@cornell.edu with questions and suggestions.
