TidBITS Author

I'm one of the people responsible for deciding what client software will be distributed within Bear Access, what requirements and recommendations to publish for computer systems used on campus, and what specific hardware and software products to support on campus and how to support them. I also provide support within CIT, and help other support providers on campus.

I joined the Core Technologies Group in March 2000, after eleven years working for businesses outside the University. From 1989-1995 I worked in technical support at Baka Computers, specializing in Macintosh technology and serving many campus and area users. From mid-1995 until March 2000, I continued my technical consulting as part of Public Communications, Inc., a small Ithaca firm that provides consulting, web design, and database services.

I'm also a Contributing Editor of TidBITS, a weekly Macintosh e-zine published regularly since its inception in April 1990 by Adam and Tonya Engst, both Cornell alumni.

Palm OS Resources

As a long-time PDA user (I was an early adopter of Newton technology, and owned three different models along the way) I've found myself an expert in Palm OS technology. Here are some general Palm OS resources as well as a few pieces of local content you may find interesting. Meanwhile, subscribe to CU-PalmOS-L for a Cornell-based discussion forum about Palm OS handhelds and related topics.
