How to Add the Cornell Configuration (PCF) File: Windows XP or Vista

To use VPN with Cornell campus networks and services, you must use the Cisco VPN software with the Cornell campus configuration (PCF) file installed.

If you're using Cisco VPN software version 4.0 or higher, you can continue to use it. However, you must add Cornell's configuration file.

Adding the Cornell Campus Configuration (PCF) File

  1. Download the PCF file from http://cufs.cit.cornell.edu/vpn/CornellVPN.pcf.
You will be asked to save the file. Remember the location you choose.
  2. If prompted, enter your NetID and password.
  3. Choose a location and click Save.
  4. Click Start, then All Programs, select Cisco Systems VPN Client, and then VPN Client.
  5. Click the Connection Entries menu, then Import.
