Find the Right CIT Telecommuting Guide for You

CIT has introduced a set of telecommuting guides aimed at supporting different Cornell groups and their unique needs. The guides are designed to be useful for everyday telecommuting or remote teaching as well as more extended periods of telecommuting that might occur because of a campus emergency such as a pandemic.

  • A Telecommuting Guide for Cornell Faculty and Staff is for all employees and provides guidance on everything from Internet Service Providers in the Ithaca area to tips on at- home computer and Internet security to how to choose between web, video or telephone conferencing for remote meetings.
  • Teaching Remotely and Distance Learning Support describes how to create an online lecture and how to use chat, discussion board and web-based collaboration tools in connection with distance teaching and learning.
  • The Telecommuting Guide for IT Professionals and their Leadership poses many questions and issues that members of Cornell’s IT community might want to consider as they position employees to work successfully from home. It also provides links to resources available to this group.
