PIN (Personal Identification Number)

All students using ResPhone services need a PIN to make billable phone calls. This seven digit number identifies you, and ensures that only the long distance and international calls you place are billed to your bursar account, no matter which ResPhone phone is used to make the calls.

Students who will be using ResPhone for the first time this year and who want a PIN should fill out the online Student ResPhone PIN Request Form. If you are a returning student, you should use the same PIN you had last year.

After dialing the number for a long distance or international call, you will hear three beeps and a dial tone. Enter your seven digit PIN, and the call will be connected.

    IMPORTANT SECURITY INFORMATION
Your PIN should be considered extremely confidential and should be memorized. Do NOT share your PIN with anyone! If others get access to your PIN they can make phone calls which will be billed to your bursar account. In the event you lose your PIN or believe someone is using your number, please contact ResPhone immediately!

Here are the important points to remember:

  • Keep your PIN a secret!

  • You will need to use your PIN for long distance and international calls only.

  • After dialing the number for a billable call, you will hear three beeps and a dial tone. This is the signal for you to enter your PIN.

  • You will not need to use your PIN for
  • campus calls
  • local calls
  • toll-free (800, 855, 866, 877, and 888) calls
  • calls you make using a calling card
  • collect calls.

  • You can use your PIN from any ResPhone phone, not just the one in your room.
