Calling Cards for University Business
Faculty and staff needing to make long distance calls from off campus related to University business may apply for a calling card. This card will allow you to bill calls to your campus phone for appropriate business purposes.
To apply for a card, have your department's Telecommunications Coordinator (the person who handles your phone bills) submit a Request for Service form to Network and Communications Services at 120 Maple Ave. Call 254-NCS1 (4-6271) for further information.
To dial calls with your calling card, follow these steps:
- For callers within North America:
- Dial the Network Remote Access number 1-866 BIGRED9 (1+866-244-7339)
- Enter the card number and pin, then the number you wish to call.
- Avoid operator assisted calls (9+0+number, or 0+number from a non-Cornell line), and do not use the 1-800-CALLATT access number with this card. These types of calls do not receive the Cornell discount and may be charged at an extremely high rate.
- For travelers outside the US and Canada:
- Dial a Direct Access number that connects you to AT&T's network
- Dial the Network Remote Access number 1-866 BIGRED9 (1+866-244-7339)
- Enter the card number and pin, then the number you wish to call.
Note: Calls originating from off campus cannot be billed directly to your campus phone. You must use a calling card.
