Note: Bear Access is for domestic use only by members of the Cornell community.
The Bear Access channel on uPortal.Cornell provides easy access to online services. Most services are available online through the portal; some services and applications require downloading and installation.
Bear Access has two parts: the infrastructure which is the program that delivers the services (including Kerberos libraries which are essential to run certain Cornell applications that require authentication) and the applications and services themselves.
The Bear Access release for spring 2009 requires:
First step: If you have not already, install the Bear Access infrastructure and the antivirus and security tools. After installing those essentials, you can choose which applications you want to use or install.
For step-by-step infrastructure installation instructions, go to:
Install Bear Access for Macintosh
Install Bear Access for Windows
After you install the infrastructure: To install additional or updated applications or services, in the Bear Access channel on uPortal, expand the Installers folder and download and run the appropriate installer.
