Webcasting

Overview

If you need people at different locations to be able to see your lectures, symposia, colloquia, special events, or how-to tutorials, take a look at audio/video streaming and webcasting.

Because these technologies extend your events beyond the Ithaca campus, they can be excellent ways to further Cornell’s mission of outreach.

Both audio/video streaming and webcasting use the web to distribute your content. The differences are in what you want distributed, when.

Use audio/video streaming when you want people to access your content whenever they want. You can choose both audio and video (most common), or audio only.

Use webcasting when you want people to access your content live, as it happens. (You can also have it recorded for later audio/video streaming.) You can choose both audio and video (most common), or audio only.

Ready to get CIT involved? Please submit our online form, or send us e-mail.
