Numerous Devices down in numerous areas of the Campus. Phone and Network Service is affected.

Timeline:

11/07/2009 08:01 AM: Looks like Power and Phones have been restored and are working once again.

11/07/2009 07:44 AM: The Campus Telephone System (PBX) is now up as of 7:04am this morning.

The Cornell campus phone system remains down after a power outage that occurred at about 3:10 AM Saturday morning, November 7, 2009.

The loss of power was caused by a tripped line protection relay on the main campus electric feed. Crews were able to switch to a backup feed and restore power at about 4:45 AM.

CIT crews are on site working to restore the telephone system.

If you have an emergency, please use a non-campus phone, e.g. cell phone, to call 911. The Tompkins County 911 center will contact Cornell Police.

11/07/2009 05:52 AM: Cornell's Campus PBX (phone system) is still down. Avaya technicians have been contacted and are working to restore phone service.

As of 3:07 AM, Saturday, November 7, 2009, a power outage affects most of Cornell's main campus. Most buildings are without power.

The campus telephone system is down.

Crews are on en route to identify the problem and restore power.
