resnet

Residence Hall Network Service (ResNet) is the fast and convenient way for students to connect their computers to the broadband services of the Cornell campus network and the Internet. Each Cornell residence hall room provides a jack, cable, and instructions that enable students with a personal computer and appropriate Ethernet card to “get connected” immediately.

Basic ResNet service for university undergraduate and graduate residence halls is covered in the room fee and includes unlimited access to the campus network and up to 5 Gigabytes of off-campus (Internet) usage per month. ResNet is faster than dial-up, and comparable to or faster than DSL and cable modem (up to 1Gbps in some residences), and no phone line is required.
