There are a number of online environments where instructors, students, and teaching assistants can communicate and collaborate. Blackboard's built-in discussion board facilitates forums for class participation, and its chat feature enables smaller group discussions. CIT supports a standalone web-based bulletin board as well, or faculty can opt to use e-mail lists or newsgroups for group discussions.
