IT Security Office Response to Security Problems

Your department's technical support staff will report security incidents to the IT Security Office, if there is a risk of data loss, as required by Cornell policy. The IT Security Office will investigate known or suspected security problems.

If the IT Security Office detects a security problem on your computer before you're even aware of it, both you and your department’s technical support staff will receive an email notification. In addition, your network access may be restricted, and your web browser may redirect you to an online version of the notification.
