Using
Mac OS X
Note: Be sure your Airport and Keychain utilities are up to date before beginning.
First, you'll need to install two separate certificates.
- Download the certificates:
- In Firefox, click this link, (http://secutil2.cit.cornell.edu/SecureW2/certs2.zip), and when you are asked to open or save the file, choose to open it. This is a compressed zip file that Firefox will automatically unzip, making a folder called certs2.
- In Safari, click this link, (http://secutil2.cit.cornell.edu/SecureW2/certs2.zip), and the certs2 folder will be saved to your desktop.
- Next, open the folder, certs2, by double-clicking on it. The folder contains two certificate files. You'll install each of them separately.
- Double-click the file, Equifax_Secure_CA.cer.
- In the window that appears, under Keychain, select System
and click OK.

- You will be prompted to enter the name and password you use to access this computer to allow the certificate to completely install. Enter the name and password you use for this computer and click OK.
- In the Keychain Access window, double-click Equifax Secure Certificate Authority.
If you don't see the Equifax Secururity Certificate Authority, click the Show Keychains icon (at the bottom left) and then in the Keychains list, click System. (In Mac OS 10.4, click the Show Keychains button located in the same position as the icon shown.)

- Click Trust. You may have to scroll down. (In Mac OS 10.4 , this button is labeled Trust Settings.)

- For Extensible Authentication (EAP), select Always Trust.
- Repeat steps 3—8 for the ThawtePremiumServerCA.cer file.
- Quit the Keychain Access application.
Next, Connect to RedRover Secure Wireless
Instructions for
Using
Mac OS X 10.4
- Return to Finder by clicking anywhere on the desktop.
- Click the Go menu, then select Applications.
- Double-click on Internet Connect to open it.
- In the next panel, from the Network list, select RedRover - Secure.

- You will now be prompted to sign in to the network.
- Before you enter your information, click on the menu beside 802.1X Configuration and select TTLS-PAP.

- Now enter your NetID as the User Name and your NetID password for the password.

- Click OK.
- You are now connected to the RedRover Secure network!
Using
Mac OS X 10.5
- Return to Finder by clicking anywhere on the desktop.
- Click the Apple menu, then select System Preferences.
- Under Internet and Network, click Network.

- Click Airport, and then, if necessary, click Turn Airport On and Show Airport status in menu bar.

- Click Advanced.

- Click the TCP/IP tab. Make sure that Using DHCP is selected in the Configure IPv4 list.

- Click the 802.1X tab. Click the + (plus) sign at the bottom of the screen, and select Add User Profile from the list. Enter RedRover-Secure as the name of the profile.
- Leave the User Name and Password boxes empty. In the Wireless Network box, enter RedRover-Secure.
- In the Authentication box, click TTLS, and then click Configure.
- In the TTLS Inner Authentication list, select PAP, and then click OK. (You can leave the Outer Identity box empty.)
- In the 802.1X tab, click OK, and then in the Network window, click Apply, and then click Advanced.
- On the Airport tab, click the Plus sign.
- In the next box, click Show Networks to see a list of networks.
- From the list of networks, select RedRover-Secure. The box expands to show more options.
- In the 802.1X list, click RedRover-Secure. Click Remember this network, and then click Add.
- On the Airport tab, click OK, and then in the Network window, click Apply.
An authentication window appears. - In the User Name box, enter your NetID, and in the password box, enter your NetID password. Click OK.










You are now connected to the RedRover Secure network!
