To use RedRover Secure, you'll need
- A Cornell NetID and password
- A wireless card that can use WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) security
- For Macintosh
- AirPort cards are usually WPA-compatible, although they may need software updates
- For Windows
- If your laptop is a newer model and it has built-in wireless capability, it is likely to work with WPA.
- If you need to purchase a card, in CIT tests, the D-Link DWL-G630 card worked most easily with RedRover Secure.
- Cards that did not work in CIT tests were the Dell 1130 and 1150 built-in wireless, and the 3Com 3CRXJK10075.
- Other cards that are WPA-compatible will also work with RedRover
Secure Wireless, but they may require driver updates or further setup.
