University IT Policy 5.11
Summary of Policy
Cornell University will make its official Web pages accessible to the widest possible range of users, including people with the more common sensory, motor, and cognitive disabilities. Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 will be used as a minimum set of standards.
The policy includes a timeline for various types of web sites to comply with the new standards. Training and tools are being provided to assist those responsible for developing or maintaining Cornell web sites.
This policy is jointly sponsored by the Office of Web Communications and the Office of Information Technologies.
