The Director of IT Policy and the University Computer Policy and Law Program assists with the development, formulation and promulgation of university-level IT policies through the University Policy Office. For information on the University Policy Office, please refer to their web site, and in particular University Policy 4.1, Formulation and Issuance of University Policies.

The Director of IT Policy is always happy to answer any questions you have regarding IT policy development, or to come and give presentations to your campus group, committee or association. Please contact her at tbm3@cornell.edu or at 4-3584.

The IT Policy Framework chart summarizes the status of current and proposed IT-related policies.

Impact Statements: In order to begin the University Policy Process (see link to 4.1 above for a flow chart of this process), the Responsible Office must bring an impact statement to the Executive Policy Review Group.

Advisory Committee

The IT Policy Advisory Committee includes members representing various campus constituencies, assists the IT policy office in the vetting of draft policies, and maintains a web page and e-mail list open to anyone interested in these topics.
