The IT Policy Advisory Committee assists the IT policy office in the vetting of draft policies. This standing committee includes members from the following constituencies: university counsel, policy, police, audit, libraries, health services; offices of budget, student affairs and academic services, human resources, judicial administration, university and alumni relations; student assemblies, faculty senate, central computing directors, network administration; single port system administration; OIT security; and CIT security and abuse, systems and operations, integration and delivery, ResNet, and documentation. The committee meets every few months, whenever there are policy drafts ready for discussion.

An e-mail list called IT-Policy-Group-L provides an online forum for committee members and other interested parties to discuss issues related to policies that are currently undergoing review and revision.

June 4, 2004: The group discussed a first draft of an Authentication and Authorization of IT Resources Policy. Notes recorded at the meeting include comments taken from the group. The Impact Statement for this policy includes a list of stakeholders around whom the IT Policy Office will be taking this policy for discussion and comment over the course of the next several months before bringing the issue back to the IT Policy Group.
