Authorized Department User (ADU)
A person who has been given access (through the viewing access tool) to one or more departmental reports.
Capture(d)
Capturing a report means defining a set of report parameters for a published report. You can then use the captured report to create output in two ways: by running the report when you need it, or by scheduling the output on a regular basis.
Department Subscriber
For each account number, any services not associated with an individual NetID will be grouped together under the heading of Department Subscriber. Common examples are hall phones and data jacks in conference rooms.
MRC
Monthly recurring charge. This is an ongoing monthly charge associated with a service and/or subscriber. For example, there is a monthly charge for a each kind of phone.
OCC
Other Charges & Credits. This is a one-time charge associated with a service and/or subscriber. For example, there is a fee for starting an Audix mailbox (the OCC), along with the monthly fee (the MRC).
Output
The results you get when you run a report or when a scheduled event happens.
Parameter
The month, account number, or other limits you specify in order to receive the output you need. For example, you might request the June 2007 bill for department R77. If you leave all the parameter fields blank, you are in effect asking for output for the most recent month including all accounts for which you have access rights.
Pre-populated
One set of report outputs happens automatically each month - the individual usage report. This PDF file is created for each student, faculty member, and staff member each month, and is available on the Outputs tab.
Prorate
For services with MRCs, if you start or end service, you will only be charged for the part of the month you had access to that service. For example, if you have a data jack turned off on June 15, you will only be charged half the normal MRC. Prorating was not technically feasible prior to our recent software upgrade. Note: Prorating does not apply to OCCs.
Publish(ed)
A published report is a format into which data and report parameters are put, resulting in output.
Run
In this context, "run" means to ask for output based on a report format and a set of parameters. You run a report when you have a one-time need for the specific output.
Schedule(d) (event)
Scheduled events take a captured report and automatically create output for it on the schedule you've created. If you find yourself "running" the same report month after month, you'll find it much easier to capture and schedule it!
Service
Service types are voice, data, special circuit, calling card, account code, and PBN. A subscriber has one or more services assigned to their Subscriber ID.
Subscriber
Often a person (identified by a NetID and a Subscriber ID) who has one or more CIT services. A second type is a Department Subscriber. This Subscriber ID is a catch-all for the services in a particular account which are not associated with an individual, for example, a conference room telephone.
Zorilla
Zorilla \Zo*ril"la\, n. [Sp. zorilla, dim. of zorra, zorro, a fox: cf. F. zorille.]
Either of two species of small African carnivores of the genus {Ictonyx} allied to the weasels and skunks.
The best-known species ({Ictonyx zorilla}) has black, shiny fur with white bands and spots. Like skunks, it has anal glands that produce a very offensive secretion. It feeds on birds and their eggs, and on small mammals. It is fond of musical theater, but not Cole Porter. It is sometimes tamed and kept to destroy rats and mice. Called also {mariput}, {Cape polecat}, and {African polecat}. The name is sometimes erroneously applied to the American skunk.
