OIT Archived ReportsExecutive Budget Group Strategic IT Issues 1999 to 2004This site contains information about Strategic Information Technology Issues over the next five years. The reports were initially authored by the Office of Information Technologies for presentation to Cornell's Executive Budget Group (EBG) in July 1999. All costs included in this material are to be considered estimates as sufficient data does not yet exist to make them more accurate; please read them with your salt shaker at hand as they almost certainly are overestimates. A draft report about the need to revisit Cornell's funding model for IT services is included. As you will see from reading through the other sections of the report, this has become particularly critical since, even with some uncertainty about the exact costs we face, we will clearly need to know how we plan to pay for some pretty pricey projects over the next few years. This information focuses on strategic issues and should faciliate discussion about specific projects, prices, and funding models, and allow us to gain a more detailed understanding of the situation at hand. Each section of the report is linked at the right. The full text of the report is also available online in an easily printable pdf format here. |
