Net-Print
Special (Résumé) Printers

You can print résumés or other documents, including transparencies, on special Net-Print printers using your own laser-quality paper.

These special printers, called Net-Print Résumé printers, are located in Stimson Hall, Upson Hall, and Uris Library.

  • You must use 8 1/2 x 11 laser-quality paper or transparencies.

  • When selecting a printer, you will direct your job to the Net-Print Holding Queue, rather than to a specific printer.

  • You will need to go to the Net-Print Résumé printer yourself to load your paper and release your job from the Net-Print Holding Queue.

  • Jobs in the Net-Print Holding Queue expire after 24 hours.

Using a Net-Print Résumé Printer

  1. Use the Account Management page to select which account should be billed.
NOTE: The Net-Print Résumé printers do not print a header page or a watermark. You can ignore these options when selecting the account.
  2. Open the document you want to print. Select the Net-Print Holding Queue and then issue the "print" command in the application you're using.
  3. Go to the Net-Print Résumé printer of your choice and load the paper that you want to use.
  4. At the Special Print Station computer (located near the Net-Print Résumé printer), go to the Net-Print web page and enter your NetID and password when asked.
You now have a Kerberos ticket at this computer, which you must cancel (see step 8) when you are finished to protect your Net-Print account.
  5. Click Holding Queue on any Net-Print page.
  6. A list of your jobs will be displayed (see example below). Click the check box next to the files you want to print.

Net-Print Holding Queue window

The name of the nearby Net-Print Résumé printer will appear next to the Print Job button.
Click Print Job to print the files you have marked.

When you are finished, protect your Net-Print account by canceling your Kerberos ticket. Choose the yellow key in the system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Macintosh) and select Logout. Or close the floating NetID window.
  1. When your files have finished printing, remove any unused paper from the printer.

Moving or canceling special print jobs

You can move or cancel jobs in the Net-Print Holding Queue just like you can with any other print job, from any computer set up for Net-Print. You do not need to be at the Special Print Station computer.
