Submitting a Trouble Report

Trouble with Network Connections

  • Students: Ask for help from the CIT Contact Center (HelpDesk) by phone at (607) 255-8990, by e-mail at helpdesk@cornell.edu, or by stopping into the CIT Contact Center (HelpDesk) operations center at 119 CCC. For the HelpDesk's current hours of operation, please visit their web site on Contacting the CIT Contact Center (HelpDesk).

  • Faculty and staff: Consult your unit's technical support staff. If your unit does not have support staff, then ask the CIT Contact Center (HelpDesk) as above.

  • Technical support staff: You or your backup network administrator should submit a service request to CIT's Network Operations Center (NOC) by phone (5-9900), or by e-mail to noc@cornell.edu. Be prepared to supply the building, room number, jack name and IP address(es) of the node(s) experiencing difficulties and your gateway IP address.
