Kerberos Troubleshooting for Mac OS:
Synching Time with the Cornell Time Server Changes My Time Incorrectly

Problem: When I sync my time with the Cornell Time Server, it changes incorrectly.

Solution:

  • Mac OS X:
    1. Go to the Apple Menu -> System Preferences and select “Date & Time.”
    2. Click on the Time Zone tab and make sure that you have the correct time zone selected.

  • Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9:
    1. Go to the Apple Menu -> Control Panels and find “Date and Time”
    2. First, make sure that you have daylight savings time turned on or off correctly, depending on the season.
    3. Secondly, make sure you have the correct time zone. You can determine this by clicking on the Time Zone button and making sure you have a city selected that is in your current time zone.
