Subscribe to EZ-Remote, or Choose Express Lane
CIT currently offers two dial-up services that allow your computer to connect to the Cornell campus network with a modem:
- EZ-Remote requires a subscription and costs a monthly fee, but allows unlimited connection time; however, any EZ-Remote connection that has been idle for more than two hours, or that has been connected for more than 20 hours, will be disconnected.
- Express Lane requires no subscription and costs nothing, but is limited to four 15 minute connections per person per day.
As of Fall 2003, Express Lane is no longer available to faculty and staff. Express Lane remains free and available to students and retirees. If you are a student or retiree and not sure which service to choose, start with Express Lane; you can subscribe to EZ-Remote later on if you find you need more time online. To switch from Express Lane to EZ-Remote, you'll need to change a phone number in your modem settings.
