CIT no longer supports Macintosh operating systems older than Mac OS 8.6,
so these systems may not be
viable in the Cornell environment.
How to Copy Networking Software onto ZIP or Floppy Disks
If you have trouble downloading networking software with your modem,
you can copy the software onto floppy disks or a ZIP disk from a computer
that has a direct network connection on campus. The computers in ATS'
public labs have this type of connection,
and are available for all members of the Cornell community to use.
After copying the software, you can take the floppy or ZIP disks to
the computer where you need to install the new networking software.
To get the software for MacOS 7.6.1 or older, you'll need five blank
floppy disks or one ZIP disk with at least 5 MB of free space.
To get the software for MacOS 8.0 or newer, you'll need one blank floppy
disk or a ZIP disk with at least 1 MB of free space.
