Error -3215: Port in Use

Problem: I get an "Error -3215: Port in use" when attempting to establish an EZ-Remote connection.

Solution:

This error usually occurs because AppleTalk is set to route through the Modem Port. To fix this setting, open the AppleTalk control panel from the Control Panels folder in the Apple Menu. Under Connect Via, select an item other than the Modem Port. You can also turn AppleTalk off by going to the Apple Menu --> Chooser and making Appletalk inactive.

Note: if you are using a laserprinter and need Appletalk to be active, you might have to constantly switch the Appletalk on and off, depending on if you wish to print, or use your modem.

Another possibility may be that another piece of software is controlling the modem port. You should try disabling any fax software or removing it from your computer, as well as disabling any other software package which might be trying to use your modem (such as America Online)

Lastly, your computer's port information may be corrupted or incorrect. In order fix this, you should try to reset the PRAM
