If

  • you are using Windows
    AND
  • you are using Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition as distributed by Bear Access
    AND
  • you are using a "fat client" (that is, you read your e-mail through software other than a browser like Internet Explorer or Mozilla)

you need to change a setting in Symantec AntiVirus.

  1. To open Symantec AntiVirus, double-click on its icon in the Windows taskbar (usually found at the bottom right of your screen)

  2. The Symantec AntiVirus window will open.

  3. Double-click on Configure in the list on the left. The Configure folder will open to look like the screenshot above.
  4. Select Internet E-mail Auto-Protect on the left.
  5. In the settings area on the right, make sure there is no checkmark in the box labelled Internet E-mail Auto-Protect.
  6. Click OK, then click Exit.
