Logging Out

Clicking on Logout in uPortal.Cornell's header menu ends your portal session. It also ensures any changes made to your preferences are saved.

However, and this is important, it does not clear your Kerberos credentials. In other words, if you use a public computer, click Logout, then walk away, the next person who uses that computer will still have access to your infomation. The computer will think you are that previous user. This is a bad thing.

To protect yourself, be sure to Quit, Exit, or Close all browser windows to clear your CUWebLogin credentials. (We have to say "Quit, Exit, or Close" because different browsers use different words for the same thing.) If you have a Kerberos ticket through SideCar, you should Log out from that as well.
