Error 119

Problem:After I installed Mac OS 9, some programs are crashing with error type 119 or the computer starts up with Error 119.

Solution: Mac OS 9 changed the way your computer looks at certain data. When a program makes a call to this data, it gets information which does not fit what it expects. Mac OS 9 quits the program and presents an error 119 to the user or tells the user to restart without extensions. Depending on the program, an update may be available to make it compatible with Mac OS 9 on the company's website. If the error occurs during startup, disable the extension which the error reports after starting the computer without extensions. The most common culprit for this error is ATM. If your computer is crashing on startup with this error, disable ~ATM in the Control Panel first. For more Mac OS 9 information, check our Mac OS 9 Support Page.
