If you are a network administrator at Cornell, you can use the DNS database to record and update DNS information for hosts on the subnets and domains that you administer.
You must have a valid permit to access these pages. These pages contain the raw DHCP configuration information for each subnet and host. The pages contain your subnet ranges, registration details and address information for each registered system. System fields contain the hostname, MAC address and fixed IP address.
The DNS database tells you which DHCP server your registration information is on. For example, the database may display:
DHCP is defined for 128.253.64.0/23 in domain cit.cornell.edu with DHCP server 2.
You can search the DHCP logs using various criteria for time and addressing. Possible criteria include MAC address, IP address or subnet. Enter 000 for the fourth field in the subnet address.
