Thunderbird

Thunderbird is a full-featured e-mail client supported by CIT. (Comparison chart of all CIT-supported e-mail clients.)

Since Thunderbird is software you install, it is best for use on your own computer. (Browser-based clients like WebMail are more appropriate when you use a public computer.)

The best way to install Thunderbird is through the Bear Access channel of uPortal.Cornell, or with the Bear Access 2006 CD, which is available at the CIT Contact Center.

Please check with your local technical support staff before migrating from another client to Thunderbird. They will be able to help you make a smooth transition.

Please use ONLY the CIT Thunderbird installer, not the "plain-vanilla" installer available elsewhere.

See our Thunderbird Description page for general information about what Thunderbird is and does.

Download our two-page (legal-size pages) Thunderbird desk reference. Many handy tools and tips if you're just getting started, or if you want to learn how to use Thunderbird a little better.
