Configuration Change with IMAP

The instructions on this page only apply to people with all three of the following:

If you are using Eudora with Windows and IMAP, you will need to make one additional configuration change when you migrate to Eudora 6.2

  1. On Eudora's Tools menu, choose Options.

  2. In the Category scroll area at the left of the Options window click on Incoming Mail.

  3. If your Server configuration is set to POP, stop here! This page only applies to IMAP settings.

  4. If your Server Configuration is set to IMAP, set the entry in the IMAP Mailbox Location Prefix to

    INBOX.

(You must type all upper case AND include the period at the end.)

  5. Click on OK.

  1. If you use more than one personality, you will also need to change this setting for each personality.
  1. On the personality tab, right-click on the name of a personality.
  2. Choose Properties from the dropdown menu.
  3. Click on the Incoming Mail tab.
  4. Set the IMAP Mailbox Location Prefix to

    INBOX.

(You must type all upper case AND include the period at the end.)
  5. Click OK.
  6. Repeat for every personality.
  1. Exit Eudora.

  2. Restart Eudora

Some users will, as a side-effect, lose some of their locally stored settings, such as labels. You will NOT lose any messages.
