This is identified in the mail header under the Content-Type line similar to:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1To correct this, change your default character set from ISO 8859-1 to US ASCII.
For Windows 95 do the following:
- In Control Panel, double-click Mail And Fax.
- Click Internet Mail, and then click Properties
- On the General tab, click Message Format, and then click Character Set.
- Change the option from ISO 8859-1 to US ASCII, or click the "Use MIME when sending messages" check box to clear it.
For Windows 98 this is controlled in Outlook and Outlook Express.
