Lyris Web Interface

Deleting Members

Delete a Member

  1. Log in to the Lyris ListManager web interface

  2. In the row of blue tabs, click on Members

  3. Click on View Members

You can sort the member list by clicking on the tiny up and down triangles next to any column heading.

  4. Click on delete for the address you want to remove from the member list
(you will not be able to remove your own address, as is the case with Ezra in this example)

  5. You'll see a confirmation screen. Click delete to remove the member

  6. You'll see a confirmation of successful deletion (briefly) and then you'll be returned to the View Members screen.

Delete Many Members - by entering addresses

This is one way of deleting many members in one operation. It involves typing all of the addresses (or using cut & paste).

  1. Log in to the Lyris ListManager web interface

  2. In the row of blue tabs, click on Members

  3. Click on Delete Members

  4. In the Email addresses box, either type or cut & paste e-mail addresses, with one address per line.

  5. When you are done entering addresses, click delete

  6. You'll see a confirmation screen. Click delete to remove the addresses

  7. You'll see a confirmation of successful deletion. Click ok to return to the Members screen.

Delete Many Members - by search criteria

This is a second way of deleting many members in one operation. This method is only useful when the addresses you want to delete have something in common (for example, all addresses with "@cornell.edu")

  1. Log in to the Lyris ListManager web interface

  2. In the row of blue tabs, click on Members

  3. Click on View Members

  4. Click on the Find members button

  5. You can search for members who match the criterion you specify. Choose from the following gray tabs:
  • Email Address - all or part of the address
  • Name - all or part of the name entered in Lyris
  • Domain - the part of the e-mail address that comes after the "@" sign
  1. In the search box (which will have a label matching the tab you selected), enter the information that the members have in common

  2. If searching by Email Address or Name, next to Look for select contains (unless you want to search for an exact match)

  3. Click go

  4. You'll be returned to the member list screen, but only the members who met your search criterion will be shown.

  5. Click on the Delete all in this view button

  6. You'll see a confirmation screen. You have the option here of including or not including any list administrators who matched your search criteria. We think it's a really bad idea to delete list administrators willy-nilly.

It is possible to accidently delete yourself from a list (basically by clicking without reading)! If you are a list administrator and this happens to you, get another administrator to add you back to the list. If this is not possible, get in touch with the CIT Contact Center.

  1. Once you've indicated whether to include or exclude administrators, click delete

  2. You'll see a confirmation of successful deletion. Click ok to return to the Members screen
