Q:    Do I get a discount on equipment?
A:    Yes, Verizon Wireless provides a quarterly matrix containing several phones, which are discounted from the standard retail pricing. Accessories are discounted 25% from retail pricing. Both phone and accessory discounts are applicable to Corporate and Personal accounts.

Q:    Do I get a discount on America's Choice Plans?
A:    Yes, both Corporate and Employee accounts are eligible to receive a 19% discount on America's Choice Plans. Please see the rate sites for additional plans that are available.

Q:    What if I am already a Verizon Wireless Subscriber and want to receive discounts offered to Cornell Employees?
A:    If you are already with Verizon Wireless and would like to receive offered discounts, go to the Extranet Site and simply "Register your Line" by clicking on the appropriate button on the page or contact your Verizon Sales Representative.

Q:    Should I purchase insurance for my phone?
A:    Any phone purchased from Verizon Wireless comes with a one year Manufacturers Warranty to cover manufacturer defects. Insurance however, would cover damage or loss which occurs before the customer is upgrade eligible1 or that occurs through fault of the end user. Insurance can be purchased for $3.99/month and carries a $50 deductible. To further discuss if insurance is right for you, contact your Verizon Service Representative.

Q:    Are there any shipping charges when I place an order?
A:    Standard delivery (2-5 days) for phones is free. If you are placing an order for an accessory only, Standard delivery is $3.00. Overnight shipping is available for any order at a $10.00 fee (as long as the order is placed before 1:00pm that day through your Account Team). If placing your order via Extranet, overnight delivery is not 100% guaranteed.

Q:    Can I bring my number over from another carrier?
A:    Yes, if your previous carrier allows it. On the Verizon Wireless web site, choose Plans and look under Keep Your Number.

Q:    How do I get a phone that will work when I travel overseas?
A:    Verizon Wireless has a phone rental program for International Travelers. You will need to contact the International Support Team at 800-711-8300 to arrange set up and delivery.

Q:    How can I receive electronic updates from Verizon regarding offers available to Cornell?
A:    Cornell users can receive automated e-mail updates by registering through the employee Extranet Site, or by contacting your Verizon Sales Representative.

1Verizon Wireless defines Upgrade Eligible as a customer being within two months of the end of their cellular contract. The customer can now purchase another Verizon Wireless phone at the currently offered State Pricing as opposed to full retail value.
