Campus visitors (without a NetID) can register to use the RedRover Wi-Fi network at Cornell for up to three weeks. If your visit is longer than three weeks, speak with your department host about obtaining a Sponsored NetID.
Note: As part of the registration process, you will be asked to supply an email address Cornell can use to send a confirmation message.
Connect to RedRover as a guest: Windows XP
- Disconnect any wired (Ethernet or modem) connections. Make sure you are in an area with RedRover coverage.
- Click Start. Click Connect To, and then click Wireless Network Connection.

- Click RedRover, and then click Connect.

- Your computer is now connected to the RedRover network.
- Open any web browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc.) to connect to the Internet. A window opens with directions to register for RedRover.
- In the Registration window, click Visitors without NetID, Click here to proceed.

- The RedRover Terms of Use window appears. Read the terms of use and then click I accept the Above Terms and Conditions.

- The Network Registration for Visitors window appears. Fill out the form:
- In the E-Mail box,enter a current e-mail address. You'll receive a confirmation e-mail at this address, so it should be one you can access during your visit to Cornell.
- In the Name box, enter your name.
- In the Cornell College or Unit list, you can accept the default, Unknown.
- The Start Date of Visit displays the current date.
- In the Length of Visit list, select the length of your stay. The maximum registration for guests on RedRover is 21 days.
- In the Purpose of Visit box, enter a brief description of your visit.

- Click Register.
You're now registered to use RedRover.
- Restart your computer, and then you can use the Internet.
- You'll receive a confirmation message at the e-mail address you entered. Follow the instructions in the message to confirm your registration. (You need to confirm before midnight of the same day you register.)
