Oracle
Calendar on Your Cell Phone or Smartphone
To use Oracle Calendar on your cell phone or Smartphone, you
must have:
- SyncML software.
- To find out if your phone already has SyncML, check the Applications
list on your phone.
- If your phone does not have SyncML, you will need to download
and install SyncML (if there is no software for your phone on
this web site, contact your phone service provider).
- A network connection.
This could be an Internet connection through your phone service provider,
or it could be a wireless Ethernet connection.
- If you are able to view web pages on your phone, you have a working
network connection.
- If you are not sure that you can connect to the Internet, consult
with your cell phone provider or your local technical support.
To access your Oracle Calendar account, you will need to enter the
following information:
- For SyncML Server URL, enter https://calendar.cit.cornell.edu/ocas-bin/ocas.fcgi
- The paths to the different types of Oracle Calendar data need to be specified in the SyncML setup screen. The paths are:
- Contacts Server Path: ./Contacts
- Events Server Path: ./Calendar/Events
- Tasks Server Path: ./Calendar/Tasks
- Your UserID is your NetID
- Your password is the same password you use to login to Oracle Calendar
from your computer
- You will also be required to select which information you would
like synchronized
For detailed configuration information for your specific phone, consult
Chapter 5 of the Oracle
Calendar Resource Guide.
Note: If you are using a Sony
Ericsson P800 or P900, refer to the detailed instructions in
the Oracle
Calendar Resource Guide; if these devices are not set up correctly,
meetings might be shifted, duplicated or deleted.
The ILR School also has configuration instructions for some phone models.
