Use Groups

  1. Set up a New Group
  2. Delete a Group
  3. Add or Remove Individuals from a Group

Using the groups function of Oracle Calendar can help you save time when scheduling meetings, especially if you invite the same groups of people to more than one event.

First, set up the group

  1. From the Tools menu, select Manage Groups.
  2. Click New (see illustration below).

  3. In the next window, enter a Group name that is meaningful to you (see illustration below).
  4. In the Group type box, select Private or Members-only (see illustration below).
    • Private will allow only you see the group.
    • Members-only will allow the members of the group to see the group.
  5. In the Add member box, enter a name and click the checkmark to add the name to the group (see illustration below).

  6. When you have added all group members, click OK (see illustration below).

  7. Click Done.

  8. Now you can use the group when you create a meeting or other event.

Next, use the group you created

  1. Create or open the event as you normally would, then instead of entering names individually click the groups icon groups icon .

  2. Select the group you want to add and click OK to add them to the list of invitees.
  3. Set other meeting details and proceed as usual.

  1. Click the group agenda icon group agenda icon and then click the groups icon groups icon .
  2. Click Members-only so that the box beside it contains a checkmark. All the groups you are a member of will be displayed.

  3. Select the group whose calendars you want to see and click OK. Oracle Calendar will open a window showing all group members calendars, and in the leftmost column, times when members are not available will be blocked in red (see the example below).

Deleting a Group

  1. From the Tools menu, select Manage Groups.
  2. Select the group you want to delete and click Delete.
  3. Click Yes or OK to confirm the group deletion.
  4. Click OK or Done to close the Manage Groups window.

Adding or Removing Individuals from a Group

Once you have created a group you may need to make changes to it such as adding/removing members, renaming the group, or changing the group type.

  1. From the Tools menu, select Manage Groups.
  2. Select the group you want to change and click Edit.
  3. Make any changes you need to the group.
  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. Click OK again or Done to close the Manage Groups window.
