Client EXE encountered Fatal Error

Problem: When I open COLTS II, I get: Client EXE encountered Fatal Error: Attempt to find the client Java class failed.

Solution: A specific file in COLTS II must be reinstalled. To do this,

  1. Open My Computer.
  2. Open the C:\ Drive.
  3. Open the Windows folder.*
  4. Open the JCUlib folder.
  5. Open the coltsii folder.
  6. Delete the file colts.jar by right-clicking it and choosing Delete.
  7. Open Bear Access and go back into Colt II. This will reinstall the necessary files.

*Note: If you are running Windows NT, 2000, or XP, the Windows folder is usually called "WINNT". (i.e. in this case, the location is C:\WINNT\JCULib\coltsii\ )
