Bear Access starts minimized, cannot be resized

Problem: When the Bear Access window is opened, it can only be maximized or minimized. When you right-click on the taskbar, the restore button is unavailable (greyed out).

Solution: This problem occurs when Bear Access has been minimized and you close it by right-clicking on the Bear Access icon in the taskbar and select "Close." To correct the problem, you must delete the .ini file. After Bear Access creates a new one, the file must be set to read-only to prevent the problem from happening again.

  1. Close Bear Access.
  2. Click Start | Find | Files or Folders....
  3. Type runway.ini in the "Named:" field. Make sure "My Computer" is selected for the "Look in:" field.
  4. Click Find Now.
  5. When the file appears in the bottom half of the window, right-click on it and click Delete.
  6. Restart Bear Access, resize the window to your liking, then close Bear Access again.
  7. In the Find window, click on the Find Now button again. If you closed the Find window, follow the above steps to open it again.
  8. When the file appears in the bottom half of the window, right-click on it and click Properties.
  9. Put a check in the box labeled "Read Only."
  10. Click OK.
