Bear Access Runway doesn't have a button for "Eudora Mail"

Problem: Bear Access via Runway doesn't have a button for "Eudora Mail" or a folder named "Alternate Mail Access", instead there is just one folder named "Mail", or there is a completely different set of icons. The icons in Runway are part of a packages. There is a standard Bear Access package, a lab Bear Access package, and several other packages for other uses on campus. This problem occurs when you have the wrong package installed on your computer, instead of the standard Bear Access package.
Note: This problem is different than when all the icons in Bear Access via Runway are labeled "unknown", or there are no icons in Bear Access.

Solution:

  1. See if you have the standard Bear Access package installed: It is possible to have more than one package installed. To see if you also have the standard Bear Access package installed, click the "Top" button in Runway. If you see a folder named "Bear Access" click on it. If you have two or more folders that say "Bear Access" then click on each one (and return to the list using the "Top" button) until you have found the correct version of Bear Access. If you only have one folder named "Bear Access" and it doesn't have the correct icons, then continue to the next step.
  2. Changing the Lab package to the Standard Package:
    1. Close Bear Access
    2. Open the file "c:\windows\ProjectSalsa\salsaprf.txt" in notepad (or winnt for Windows 2000).
    3. Look for the line that reads "w95.ba.lab [salsasrv1.cit.cornell.edu,20041,versd.manserver1]". Change the word "lab" to "standard" so the line now reads "w95.ba.standard [salsasrv1.cit.cornell.edu,20041,versd.manserver1]".
    4. Close notepad and save the file.
    5. Re-open Bear Access
