Error Type 2 when opening Bear Access

Problem: When I open Bear Access, it quits with an Error Type 2.

Solution:

There are two possible solutions to this depending on the cause.

  • If you are using EZ-Remote and are not connected when you open Bear Access, it will give you this error. The solution is to connect first, either by the EZ-Remote Connect provided with the EZ-Remote install or through the Remote Access or PPP Control Panel. Once the connection is active, you should be able to open Bear Access without problem.
  • If your connection is working fine (i.e. Netscape and Eudora function properly), but Bear Access still crashes upon opening, then the solution to is to reinstall Bear Access. Instructions regarding reinstallation can be found here.
